My eighth niche site this month, MPVintage, is an expired domain that I found through DropDay.com and purchased from GoDaddy.com. First I will tell you that it is a PR3 site. I picked it up for $41.00. Although before I could even bid on it I had to pay GoDaddy.com to participate in their marketplace, $4.99. They do things a little different then SnapNames and NameJet. I was expecting a years registration like I got from the others. GoDaddy.com charges an additional $10.87 for the years registration. I then added their privacy package for another$7.93. So all in all, not including the $4.99 I have $59.80 wrapped up in this site to get it started. That isn’t too bad for a PR3 site. Just be careful when you are bidding at GoDaddy and expect the extra charges I explained here. Also once I won the auction it took much longer to gain access to the account then SnapNames and NameJet. I think it was over a week maybe like 10 days. I would imagine that you might be able to get some good deals with them because some people won’t want to pay the $5 required to just place a bid.
I get most excited about these sites that already have some PR because you just never know which ones are going to take off or not. I think this one will do very well for me. Vintage items and antiques seem to do well on eBay.
