The Non-Techie Approach to Affiliate Sites

So I thought to myself the other day… self… why am I sharing all this info with the world about my EPN venture. My answer to myself was that I enjoyed sharing my success with others and enjoy helping them achieve success as well.

I have to tell you that I was convinced for years that I could make money online. Although the odds were against me. My wife would make fun of me and say stuff like, “why do you waste your time on those scams” and “you are never going to make any money doing that”. So many times along my path I gave up and thought she was right.

I think the trick with making money online is to test out many things and find out what works for you and then repeat your success. I am probably going to make over $2,000 this month with eBay Partner Network. This is working for me. It might not work for you. You may be better at something totally different then me.

So I just want to say that my wife is probably thinking to herself today when I showed her a $1,000+ deposit to my PayPal account, “Why didn’t I support him on this earlier”. So no matter what those people around you say… Don’t Give Up!

So back to my site, I think that I should be getting a little money from this site as well. After all I am sharing all kinds of info and corresponding with folks as well via emails. Adsense on this site was not working. Most folks that visit this site are trained not to click on them. I vary rarely click adsense ads. I usually copy and paste the display URL. So I thought that many folks that end up here might not have the tech skills to build sites like I do. So I thought I would put affiliate links up in place of the adsense ads.

If I did not have tech skills and build my own sites using the API’s I would probably be using these 2 programs. The first one is BANS for EPN. They almost sold the site but now decided to reinvest into the program and continue developing it. Also since I am going to start with Amazon the second link is for Associate-O-Matic. I think this program looks great. It is a super easy way to have your own ecommerce site including your own shopping cart. The visitor stays on your site until checkout. I may end up buying this and putting up a few sites of my own.

So there you have it… an explanation why adsense is gone from this site and those 2 affiliate links showed up. Thought I owed it to everyone to explain my actions. I don’t expect much from these links… but I would like to collect some money from clickbank some day instead of them always taking it back because I didn’t meet the requirements to get a payout. That is another rant/post in itself…

Do we lead the same life or what? My wife is the EXACT same, until she last saw my November earnings. Keep up the great work and let’s hope EPN continues the love.

Yeah, I kind of figured I was not alone on that one!
